Following recent reports that said Vidic’s wife is not happy in Madrid an has urged Nemanja to quit United, his agent Silvano Martina has moved to quash the rumours by insisting that the interview is a complete fabrication.

Vidic allegedly told The Sun:

“My wife Ana is unhappy with our lifestyle in Manchester but I am not going to change my mind as I am happy with the team and Manchester and the club’s ambition for next season”

His agent however, has labelled these quotes part of a “false interview” and states that Vidic has not spoken to the press for three months.

“Even though Vidic has not spoken for the last three months, there have been false interviews published in the press,” Martina told Gazzetta dello Sport.

.

“I read that he wants to leave, that his wife is not happy at Manchester but all of these stories are false.

.

“He is very annoyed and saddened by these stories that give the wrong impression.”

He also put united fans minds at ease by revealing that he thinks Vidic will stay at the club.

“In football you never know what can happen, but I believe he will remain at Manchester United, one of the strongest clubs in the world.

.

“If Vidic or I should have problems with the club (United), we will talk directly to Alex Ferguson and not to the newspapers.”

Can we believe anything we read in the tabloid newspapers these days? It seems to me they can print whatever they like, whether it’s true or not and nobody will take them to task on it. The press are supposed to provide a service to the people by informing them of real news and current events. Instead, the only purpose they serve is to mislead the public with lies and made up rumours, while fattening their pockets.
