New signing Antonio Valencia has paid tribute to former club Wigan since putting his name to a four year deal earlier tonight. The winger praised the club for helping him develop into the player he is today and wished them well for the future.

The official site has announced that we have tonight signed Antonio Valencia from Wigan. It’s not a shock transfer, our interest in him has been widely reported among the media, but it’s good to know that Sir Alex is working hard on transfers after returning from his well earned holiday.

Carlos Tevez has shown a lot of disrespect to our club recently and generally talked gibberish, but his recent comments in the press not only shocked me, but angered me.
