It was simply mind-boggling for me to read that the 3 clubs that played in the UEFA cup made less than 500k while Liverfool made 18million pounds. Amazing rift.
The bottom clubs making 50+% more than last season is great news, but to claim that it equals a narrowing of the financial divide is comical.
While the top club has been earning 30% more each year compared to the previous year, in real money that's 10million pounds. That's a decent player or half a very good player.
Add to that the Champions' League like you have pointed out and you have a very huge mountain to climb. For entertainment and sporting reasons, I really do hope that Everton or Spurs crack the big 4 within the next two seasons.
