There are so many food scandals happening in China that are fatal. It is ridiculous. There is zero quality inspections there and corruption is rife, so a lot of products don't get inspected. i'm not sure if you have heard about it in Europe, but there was a big milk contamination and everything from oreos to Magnum ice cream is effected.
So the one thing I make sure not to do is buy food stuff from China. |
I think there's a misunderstanding here. As far as I know, the melamine in Chinese milk scandal was there because some people wanted to make a fake result of the protein test. As melamine has high Nitrogen content, and the rapid milk test usually test the Nitrogen content to represents protein (not the protein, because it's time consuming). So there's a quality inspection there but unfortunately there's no chemical safety.
