Sorry mate but yes they do exactly that.
Myself and Mrs SR have been refused entry dozens of times at quite a few clubs/pubs etc. Most recently back in August this year during "Pride" week.
And i can say truthfully that i know hundreds who were stopped in exactly the same way.
