Perhaps because France don't normally take friendly matches overly-seriously and see it as an opportunity to try out new players, positions and tactics, which is how it should be. Trezeguet is a cracking player and has always put in the effort whether at club or international level. I had the same initial thoughts as you, but then I realised that Domenech will probably want to try someone else out in that position for long-term ambitions.
