Well..the Swedish players future is very unsure. I guess all is waiting for a big $ offer..besides Forsberg. Well maybe him too.
His feets is killing him and have kept him from hockey for most of last season and have been a plague for him for the last 4-5 years.
He havent given a good hint yet about his future but I think he still hope to play in NHL next season or retire. Last season I think most of us here in Sweden thought Forsberg would play for his home town team Modo but he made it clear that if he wanted to play in NHL and not in Sweden. He even thought of retire if he couldnt play again. Thats why I dont think he'll be playing in Sweden ever again. Which is sad, he deserves to get a chance to win a domestic title to be amongst the big guys when it comes to win titles. The domestic trophy here in Sweden, World Championship, Olympic Gold and winning the Stanley Cup.
Sundin said just a few days ago he's condidering a move to Montreal. At least there's been a contact and what I understod even a contract suggestion from the Canadiens. But he also said its not 100% sure he'll play next season. He will take a few weeks off to get a rest and think about the future. Playing in Sweden isnt an option if you ask me. If he's not playing for Canadiens or Rangers which also is an option I think Sundin will retire. Remember he's born 1971 so he's 37 and I think he can see the end of his career coming closer. Its his way he talks about the future and talking to the family first, that makes me think so.
Im not sure what the Maple Leaf fans think of him moving to Montreal to play for them. Maybe Mats will be forgiven if he make the 'impossible' move to the rivals. The rivalry between the two teams/cities have been massive in the history. How do they feel in Toronto to see their capitan play in the wrong shirt? But he got the biggest recognition a player in NHL can get by getting the 'give him a chance to win the cup, by trading him to a better team'-go ahead by the Maple Leafs fans.
I heard Markus Näslund have sold the house in Vancouver so one can assume he wont stay there. Where he'll end up I dont know. He's greedy so I dont care about him. He was once seen as a better player then Peter Forsberg.
