It was the right choice for Jagr.

For 17 years he has had to deal with prejudices (sometimes ever borderline racism) and people questioning his intentions or motives. He if anyone has the right do what he feels is the right move for himself.

As a Rangers fan, I actually like it that he goes to Omsk. This way he can mentor our most prized prospect Cherepanov for a year and make sure Chere knows what to expect when he comes over to the NHL next year.

Im not sure what you mean by the prejudices.

Still, I think it was the only real option for Jagr to move to Om$k to earn the money he wanted.

By prejudices I mean that he was a young European player in the NHL during a time when "Euro" was considered a derogatory word and hacks like Don Cherry were all over him. Not to mention Mike Milbury.

As for the Omsk deal...he said it was never about the money. He wanted respect and a 2- or 3-year deal, because he didn't want to go through free agency again.

By going to Omsk, he will be appreciated and loved the way he should be. In Washington he was told that he's a 3rd line player and a grinder. Then he went to New York, broke every Rangers scoring record, but was still bashed and ridiculed for not taking part in the shootouts, for instance.

Jágr wanted 2 or 3-year deal before moving back to the Czech Republic. NHL teams offered him just 1-year deal, unlike Omsk. He knows the city, fans, his role in the team is clear...I hope he'll be successful there.

Alexander Radulov signs for Salavat Yulaev in the Russian League despite he got a contract with Predators.
Thursday the NHL organization and KHL organization come to a decision to not sign players under contract when they had a meeting with IIHF. Im impressed, the agreement held for almost two days.

I think its about the money Radulov moves back to Russia. In Nashville he got a contract giving him $984,200 a year. Thats before tax. The contract with Salavat Yulaev gives him $13M for a three year deal. Thats 4,3 million dollar each year. And as the incing on the cake, thats tax free. With the new contract Radulov earns in the same region as the highest paid NHL players.

When I read this I got to think of our own Spartacus. What if the slave went to play with the Spaniards even if he were under contract with us? This is what Radulov do now.

Ok, this contract isnt yet confirmed and approved officially yet. But in ice hockey this havent been a problem before with the 'defectors' from Russia to NHL over the years.

Jagr is the laziest, most overrated and selfish player I have ever seen. His only really great years were with Pittsburgh over 15 years ago. Don Cherry is an idiot sometimes but he was right on here, and breaking Ranger scoring records is not much of a feat.
