When most players who have served thier clubs well leave, they get nice friendly goodbyes, But it appears SAF has a reputation for fighting with his.

They don't leave happily after years of good service. They end up being 'kicked' out, Remember Ince, Stam, Beckham, Keano, and now RVN. Why? It appears Ferguson is the problem. Even if there are issues between players, part of his job is to sort it out amicably.

Fergie has always been "the gaffer" and when players cross him they do get the law laid down, then, if they transgress again, he shows them who is the boss.

As Bryan Robson said in an interview today, there is nobody bigger than the club and they will always stick by that rule.

Kanchelskis got greedy, or rather his agent at the time did, and he was being offered on the market without United's permission. When he was confronted with the facts, he sided with his agent and was released. Kanchelskis later on towards the end of his career admitted that he had been a fool and that United, who had treated him very well, had been wronged.

Paul Ince got too big, his ego got the better of him and he started to question some team selections and was "The Guv'nor" in the dressing room. Fergie saw him as a threat to team stability and let him go.

The Beckham entourage was the problem at OT; he had sycophants hanging around all the time and invading the sanctity of the club. They were in touch with the ever greedy media, feeding them "newsworthy items". The problems started with his wedding and Beckham never performed on field as he had before. He was doing too many days "promoting himself" and not enough training. He was becoming bigger than United and no way was Fergie going to allow all this.

Keano is a different matter. They never really fell out as you can see from the heartwarming chat he and Fergie was having on the field on Tuesday night last. Its just that Fergie decided that, with Keano's health problems, he would be better off in himself if he left. He was beginning to struggle with the pace and was, on occasion, being bypassed by attacking opponents. Keano was always welcome at OT as was shown the other night.

RvN is already well documented and needs no further comment from me.

Jaap Stam said things in a book which upset Fergie and the book was written and published without United's consent. It was in Jaap's contract, as with all players, that any books are submitted to United for approval, as was the case with Beckham too, this was not done in both cases.

Therefore you could say that both players were in breach of contract. I think you will find that RvN is too - although thats just a guess.

Isn't that what managers sometimes have to do?..make unpopular decisions?

Ferguson always maintains that nobody is bigger than the club.

Out of all the players who left did we really miss the majority of them? Keane-yes, RVN-possibly if he goes, the rest of the players on that list-no.

Look at Sir Alex Ferguson's trophy haul, he rarely makes a bad decision.

Oh he has made many but most of the time manages to get out of it, somehow. Personally I think he should be grooming his replacement now and not leaving it too long. With the best will in the world even his brain can only come up with so many team changes and tactics.

I think Ferguson will get it right again.

Let's hope he can find the right replacement. We can't ask for anything more.
