Upgrading my PC - need help!

Once again i find myself using you morons for advice... Nah just kidding of course!

If you know nothing about pcs i'd not bother reading on :p

So i'm upgrading my pc from 1gb of ram to 4gb of ram. I basically know what i'm doing except for one little detail. This is regarding the bandwith of the ram. Currently my motherboard is accepting 2 sticks of 512 Mbytes RAM PC2-5300 (333MHZ). Just wondering how important the "333 MHZ" part of that is.

I'm going to buy this 4GB (2GBx2 - TWO SINGLE STICKS OF 2GB) DDR2 PC2-5300 667Mhz 240PIN DIMM AM2. It's almost the same thing except for more RAM and more MHZ. Just not sure if the MHZ change will make mean it is incompatible or not with my motherboard. I don't want to buy the RAM and find it doesn't work.

If anyone knows let me know because i want to buy this tonight and get my machine super fast!

Your motherboard can only accept a certain bus speed, if you load any hardware onto it that is appreciably higher, it will make no difference to the MB or your pc. If you over clock it you could blow the lot.

Best get a new compatible MB too.

Hint!!, DDR2 PC2-5300 667Mhz 240PIN DIMM AM2 can achieve speeds of 1066MHz & also have higher data bandwidths plus lower power consumption

Check your motherboard manual & bus speed(The speed or frequency at which the data on the motherboard is moving)
