I didn't see a thread like this in the forum... So I hope it is not a repeat...

Anyways, who would you have in your fantasy starting eleven? I'd like to base this on footballers still currently playing so as to compare. :)

---------Cech----------

Lahm------Rio----Vidic-------Evra

Gerrard----Scholes----Essien

Messi--------Torres-------Ronaldo

I realize my defense looks a bit biased but they have had an unbelievable season...

I also like having scholes in my midfield... His performances against barcelona showed his class. His ability to dictate play is incredible.

And the front three? Need I say more? I want to include Rooney so badly however... I love the passion he puts into the game... Perhaps I'd sub torres for rooney particularly in a bigger game - I just wish he'd find the net more despite the massive contribution he gives every game.

Ramos----Ferdinand----Vidic----Evra

-----Gerrard----Essien-----Kaka-----

Messi--------Rooney-------C. Ronaldo

This will be in the 4-5-1 which Fergie uses with Essien dropping back as a dmc and Gerrard and Kaka as cm with Messi and Ronaldo on the wings and as rm and lm with Rooney as lone striker which he played very well vs Arsenal when we beat them 4-0 this season and vs Liverpoo 3-0

Bench:
Buffon
Lahm
Mascherano
Scholes
Fabregas
Torres
Drogba

Personally, I think that anybody who doesn't pick Casillas isn't the brightest. He's been the best keeper this year by far.

Rooney - Benzema - Ronaldo

Kaka - Anderson - Messi

Evra - Vidic - Ferdinand - Ramos

Casillas

Subs:
Cech
Carvalho
Lahm
Gerrard
Ronaldinho
Eto'o
Drogba

Some of the outfield players might not be in their 'natural' positions, but to me these are my 6 favourite outfield stars in the world at the moment.

The bench looks pretty mean too.

If United were to add Casillas, Benzema and Ramos, we would almost be unbeatables.

i'd have thought you'd include Alfredo De Stefano in your squad as well dude..?

Your post signifies a problem with the thread topic, the scope of potential entrees is so vast! You should do it on the basis of a criteria, e.g. to have played football since 2000, or 'best fantasty european select XI today".

buut, on the basis of today, i would havee.
Buffon in goal,
our defence (standard - Brown, Rio, Vidic, Evra)
Essien - Scholes - Anderson :)
Rooney Kaka Ronaldo

bench: Lahm, Carvhaleo, Nedved, Ribbery, Torres.

my team would beat all of yours :p

This is one is quite simple really. I'll pick players who have impressed me since i've been able to comprehend football so no Pele or Maradona or Best sorry.

Schmeichel
Maldini Ferdinand Stam Cafu

Giggs Okocha* Keane Ronaldo

Ronaldo (BRA) Van Nistelrooy

* Im Nigerian so Okocha gets a sympathy vote however id ACTUALLY have to slot Scholes or Vieira in there

My team would be similar to the thread starters team (Brock)
except id have Buffon instead of Cech and Ramos in
as well as Kaka who is holder of the World player of the year award,
so he has got to be in the team:

---------------Buffon--------------

Ramos------Rio----Vidic-------Evra

-----Gerrard-----------Essien--------

-----------------Kaka-----------------

------Messi---------------Ronaldo---

-----------------Torres----------------

Coupet
M.Richards---Rio---Vida---Evra
Hargreaves---Essien
C.Ronaldo---Messi
Rooney
Torres

Bench:
Casillias
Clichy
Terry
Gerrard
Benzema

Ronaldo & Messi would run the flakes and create mayhem, but the line up is strong, young and has pace!!

Wow, that would be an amazing team.

The only question for me is whether Casillas would be better than Buffon. I think Buffon is the best goal keeper in the World but Casillas has been outstanding for Real this season so he might get the nod on current form.

With that team, you could put a camel in goals and they would still win ;)
but yes Cassilas is the form keeper.....so chuck him in there..
