Whats crazy about that?
50 years ago he was in the Munich crash,
40 years ago he scored twice as United won their first European Cup,
He has been with the club more or less ever since,
His appearence record has just been broken,
He IS Manchester United,
So I reckon Sir Bobby deserves a medal.

yer but i felt it was the players night . and i could see it in bobby Charlton that he didnt really feel comfortable in getting it as wen he got given it he just kept it in his hand yer he should of got 1 but i feel that the night was 4 the players and i didnt like it the way the trophey wasnt presentd on the pitch !!

What? If he didnt get a Medal id be dissapointed.
The behind the scenes work he does is breath taking.
He inspires the team on big ocasions.
and he is the SECOND highest apearing player in United history.

Why shouldnt he get a medal?

Ye what a disgrace. The club's biggest legend getting recognision on one of our biggest nights ever. It could be worse we could have LOST. Plus I prefer the trophy bgeing presented in the stands.

I prefer the trophy getting presented to us FULL STOP......
We got it and that's ALL that matters.

he got a medal for the club board. he was the guy that represented us, us just as peter kenyon represented the chelsea board.

i think it shows the difference in class between the two teams, we have a legend, a survivor of munich going up to represent the board, while chelsea had a little runt of a man named peter kenyon.

btw, when kenyon got his medal did anyone else hear the utd fans taunt him? i thought that was quite funny lol

He received it on behalf of the club and TBH, I had tears in my eyes as he walked
up the Wembley-a-like stairs and colleted it.

True United Legend!

i agree, i thought it was testament to the man that he didnt want it around his neck - showing he didnt want personal glory.

i dare say that if chelski had won it then kenyon would be gloating with it around his neck like the classless prat he is.

he is not just on the Manchester United board he is a massive part of the clubs history. to me he represented all of the Busby Babes last night.
If you lip read what Charlton said, he didnt want the medal put on as he felt he didnt deserve it.
For someone like him to be so emotional last night it showed how much the club means to him.

so for me and probably many others thats enough of a reason.

sir bobby is the reason our club is what it is today . his popularity and the respect he engenders bought utd fans from everywhere .

he is also the clubs glue linking the past with the present

i believe it is down to the club who gets a medal and this man is worthy of every gong going .

many foriegn peoples only english during the 60s was bobby charlton .
