Destiny favoured us last night. We were destined to win from even before our very first game.
Chelski will probably get their again. They've been very consistent in the past few seasons by reachin the Semi's.

We all know about the great game and the tension filled penalties.

John Terry was 6 inches at most away from winning the Champions League
trophy and then 10 minutes later 6 inches from it.

He cracked the post with a vital kick from the spot and from there United
propelled on after Van Der Sar saved from a moody looking and non emotional
looking Anelka.

I've been talking to both sets of fans today and some have absolutely rammed
Terry's miss at him and gloated over the whole thing.

Personally, I think it took bottle for him to stand up and take one and he missed.
Ronaldo missed. Terry's just had so much pressure on him as captain and the chance to win it

As I said, he was 6 inches from it and I wouldn't wish that sort of trauma on
anyone because that moment will be with him for the rest of his life and will
mentally ruin him for the summer.

Obviously I'm delighted he missed and we won,, but I don't think the
abuse that is being flung at him is worthy. Despite what he said or did in the
past, I wish him well.

But what I'm getting at is, is the abuse and gloating towards him deserved?

After all, he did one of the toughest things in life.

He missed and could have easily have scored and we would have lost!

I have removed all threads refering to a certain player a racist. You are opening the forum, theoretically, to legal action and, I do not believe it is true anyway. If he were a racist, he would have left his team a long time ago, as one of very few native englishmen in the team.

Secondly, if anyone is to "blame" for losing Chelski the final, look no further than Drogba. Terry had to take his place for the penalties and his left foot gave way as he was following through on the ball, not after he had hit it.

Rules 3 & 9 apply.

Seriously if anybody still hates John Terry you should see these photos. I still don't like him but he's been punished enough.

He looks like a man who's just waiting to die. I mean that literally. You'll see when you see the pics. Especially the one on the right.

He'll probably become a hobo lying in the gutter outside Stamford Bridge, with like three months worth of hair growth on his face.

Perhaps not exactly too.... :D

And think this article really belongs to this thread - that JT is indeed hard luck - and took all the blame at the end of it all instead of...... :D

But note the Incredible Sulk's lamentation/sarcasm. :D

Setanta

Anelka refused Terry penalty

Nicolas Anelka has admitted refusing to take one of the first five penalties in Chelsea's Champions League final defeat.

The Frenchman also slammed boss Avram Grant’s decision to use him primarily as a wide player since he joined the club from Bolton in January.

Anelka’s shoot-out snub of manager Grant left John Terry to take The Blues’ fifth spot-kick, which he skewed wide after slipping on the rain-soaked pitch.

United went on to claim the trophy while Terry was inconsolable after seeing the trophy slide out of his grasp.

Anelka, who eventually took and failed to convert the seventh spot-kick, said: "I was asked to take one of the first five kicks.

"But I said: 'That is out of the question, I have come on basically as a right-back and you want me to take a penalty.'

"So I had to go in seventh but (Edwin) Van der Sar pushed away my shot. All the better for him, that is the game."

Talking about hard luck.... :D

the pressure he brings onto himself is wholly by himself. he brings the media to his attention, he wants to be england captain, he wants to do the quadruple, he wants to win the premier league best defender.. he wants to be better than Rio and Vidic.. He and not anyone but he brings the pressure deliberately and purposely onto himself. He dind't have to take that penalty.. easily could have been taken by Ricardo Carvaleho.. even Cech could have took that penalty, but Terry wantd to prove to Capello and the world that he should be England captain.. he he stepped up, slipped, sulked, sobbed and ended the season silverwear-less..

I think he deserves every single bit of criticism he gets for being the media whore he is.

I 100% back what you said. I think that is one hell of a post mate. Well said.

He is just like Beckham. He wants sympathy and complains about a lack of private life. Not being able to escape the media and finding it scary that the media follow him everywhere. Yet Beckham is the one making all the advertisement deals and going on tv shows, adverts and evrything else.

These people deserve criticism if they make mistakes and want to be in the spot light. You cannot have it both ways.

Streching the point slightly now but look at Kiera Knightly she said she is terrified of the public and media and fed up with being followed around. You don't see her doing interviews unless she is promoting a movie. Trying to get a celebrity boyfriend.

These people bring it upon thereselves with greed.

john terry is not the only sportsman taking the dosh mate, look at becks, cantana, shearer, and all the other greedy people in not only sport but the whole entertainment business,do you not agree that put in the same position you wouldn't court the limelight if it meant that extra buck in your bank account, ferdinand would do anything to get to be england captain, and good luck to him,but why then shouldn't jt,or gerrard or infact any player worth his sort jump to the fore and say i'll give it a go.look at the way drogba completely acted like a pillock and he should defo have been reded, but united aint whiter than white either, tevez is a legend and didn't need to react to bullying tactics from anyone,he should have walked away, ego, greed, and a money mad sport, is what we pay our season tickets for,we all acknowledge it every week..

Avram Grant told a tearful John Terry to forget his crucial penalty miss - but thanks to some cruel email virals doing the rounds, it'll be hard for the Chelsea captain to forget his night of shame.

Terry slipped when he took the Blues' fifth spot-kick and his strike crashed into Edwin van der Sar’s left-hand post.

United won the final 6-5 on penalties after the match finished 1-1 after 90 minutes, with no further goals in extra-time.

Is Terry's chance of England captain now completely gone?

1. His behaviour towards Tevez in the fracas.
2. Rio captained his team to victory.
3. Rooney's now got a winners medal.

All the signs point to Rio being the England captain.

So has Terry blown that as well as the CL?

In my opinion , negative talkings about rival team's players is meaningless. Football endustry is professional environement. Everything can change, players will change their teams easy, who knows next season Terry will be United's player?

I believe real supporter must support club, not players. Players can change but team's colours never change. Flags will be same forever.
