But, just out of interest, what are ticket prices like for friendly games?

Yeah, I think so.
I guess I'll be watching it on MUTV. It's a bit of a pain for me to get to Manchester on a weekday, especially for a friendly

Why should anyone expect the United "brand" to pay
the police costs, the ambulance costs, the council costs,
the health and safety costs or the planning costs, for half
a million suporters to see the team parade the trophies for
free through the streets of Manchester ?
When they can make 76,000 paying customers sit in stands, some
so far away that all they can see is a small shine of silver, without
it costing United one penny.
Do you really think that "brand" United give a monkeys that a family
that has lived around OT would like to see the team they have supported
for decades show off the silverware in their streets without having to
pay for it ?
GET REAL.
As some are so fond of saying on here, you want to see the best...
....pay for it !!!

Hargreaves: Fans Dererve Parade
Owen Hargreaves is looking forward to taking part in the Reds’ double trophy parade at Old Trafford on 6 August, a celebration he feels is 10 weeks later than it should have been.
The midfielder was as disappointed as anyone when United were forced to shelve plans for an open-top bus tour around Manchester because of trouble between fans in the city centre after the UEFA Cup final on 14 May.
But he is now urging fans to take a one-off chance to see the silverware and celebrate United’s historic 2007/08 campaign ahead of what promises to be a high-quality pre-season friendly against Italian giants Juventus.
“It’s a belated but great opportunity for the fans to see the trophies,” he told ManUtd.com. “We didn’t have a celebration after the Champions League final and this is something that should have happened earlier, straight after we came back from Moscow.
“The players, staff and fans who put so much work into the season were disappointed not to go on a parade. It’s a shame that it was cancelled because of other people’s actions at the UEFA Cup final.
“The double was a crowning achievement and it should be celebrated - it doesn’t happen very often.”
An hour before kick-off against Juve, the United players will walk out with the Premier League and Champions League trophies, for photos at all four stands.
Hargreaves, who is recovering from a recurrence of the tendonitis which disrupted the start of his United career, is keen to be involved in the evening’s events.
“I hope I get to carry out a trophy!” the 27-year-old added. “Obviously it’s not the same environment as it would have been, but it’s probably too late to have a bus parade now.
“It’s nevertheless a wonderful chance for everyone to see the trophies again. Hopefully we’ll have a good game against Juve and the fans will enjoy a great evening.”

My ticket only costs £10, I'm close to the pitch for the trophy perade and it seems like an eternity since the last time I was at OT.

this is way modern football is heading..not just united
anything in the past that would have been free and giving back to the supporters has been taken away and replaced by something thought up by some marketing back-office team to generate revenue and exposure. support comes along way 3rd from those.
I just hope it aint a "oh look!! another title win" reaction and we realise that at one time there was a 26 year void of nothing. We must never be complacent to think that those times are gone and celebrate every success as much as the first.
As a club we have been spoilt with the honours we have won over the last 15 years and this is testament to the drive and determination of Sir Alex to keep whatever players he had at his disposal, level-headed and driven to the task in hand.
