Sir Alex has categorically mentioned in an interview last month that he'll be around for another two seasons at least (dependent on the Glazers, of course). Again, depending on how Keano does with Sunderland (or some other team), we'll have to re-evaluate our opinions.

Fact is that inspite of such an accomplishment as bringing thru a team to the Premiership when they were rock-bottom of the League when he took over, is an immense accomplishment; more so for a novitiate.

If Sir Alex steps down as manager I would like him to step up as footballing director of Manchester United, and if I could choose a shortlist of next managers of Manchester United it would be:-

- Roy Keane
- Brian McClair
- Mark Hughes
- Eric Cantona
