Hi there,
I am looking for a little help with regards to car parking near the OT..
I normally travel up on a supporter bus so don't need to worry about this, but there is five of us going up for Ole's Testimonial and we are going up by car.
I have looked at the United website and they want £10 per person to stay in the North car park
I have read somewhere that there a local school (I think) that allows you to park in their grounds for a small charge.. this would be great as the money would go to the school.. any ideas as to where this is?
Any help would be much appreciated ;)
Thanks,
Heather x

Park somewhere round here.
Its a 5 minute walk to the ground down John Gilbert Way.
Its free because its on a street.
If you've got Sat Nav type in 1st Ave if not i'll give you directions, its easy to find.

If you get their early enough you could park down Warwick road by the cricket ground. Or park up in Piccadilly and jump on the tram up to the ground.

Hi Heather,
I always park in Circle South road. Costs £10 per car. Post code: M17 1NF its by the Daytona Go Karting place.
Good thing with parking there is, if you watch the match until the end, instead of going early like lots of fans do :( you can walk past the huge queue of cars all the way down that road, get in ya car and get to the motorway in pretty good time.
Edit: you can see Circle South in the pic posted above by Keano016.

Come off at trafford centre junction and follow road past trafford centre down towards trafford park. plenty of parking spaces for only £5 down there and good walk as you get best view of ground as well.

Many thanks for all your help..
One of the boys will be driving up, so I think we'll leave as early as we can in the morning to get there in plenty of time :)

Yeah but just jib the tram.
tram is free but getting back after the game is just too much hassle
united fans suddenly forget everyone else is united fans and would stab each other in the back to ensure they get on the next tram.
unless your getting the train and need to get back to piccadilly then its a no-go. Surely the cost of parking in city centre would be just as much as going near the ground.
I would park near the karting place on Trafford Park as its easy to get on motorway when it finishes and the walk is good pre-match and only a fiver to park.

Yeah good point. Not a driver myself so don't really look out for the hotspots.
And you are too right about the trams. I end up walking further back the train line so I can get on the first one. May end up in Eccles soon!

I want to get a park space for the newcastle game, but manutd.com says they are sold out!
I just rung the hotline to book one and the person on the phone said that with it being near the match it is best to just drive there and pay a steward who will tell you where to go?
Does this sound right? Will we get a spot if we just turn up without booking one?

Piece of cake. Lancashire County Cricket Ground £5 for the day, I always use it, secure and no messing!!!

tend to come in on trafford park side where trafford park hotel is and to be honest its an effing nightmare. parking no cheaper than a £10 unless your willing to walk and getting out after game its a dog-eat-dog world where the bloke who was cheering along with you during game would rip your head off if it meant he could get one space in front of you in the queue.
Biggest tip i can say is park further away and then when you get back to your car, traffic gone or you have walked past most of it.
Night games are 10x worse. Juve game i thought we may as well set up camp for night. Got to M62 at 11.10pm which is complete joke. Avoid carparks where they make u block people in as well. It dont rub off too well post-match

cheers for the advice guys! I think getting the train over would be a lot easier but dont think my dad is up for the train! Anyone else have any suggestions for parking?
With the cricket ground do you have to get there a lot earlier than kick off? And has anyone parked in the Lowry before?

hi, im not sure about the official car park sorry:(
however, i always park at the lowry shopping centre, it's not too expensive but very secure, easy to get out of after the game. how much were they charging for the official one? that could be another option for me for sundays game

The official car park is £10 but by all accounts it is a no no for cost and getting in and out!
From what I have been reading the best place to park is the Cricket ground or the lowry centre as they are cheaper and a bit easier to get in a nd out from!
