I simply cannot wait for the new version of Fifa :) it has out classed pes over the last few years and i cant help but predict this trend will continue.

But what do you Fifa fans hope will improve in the 09' version ?

I personally hope the manager mode improves a little bit, for example the league cup and European games are played in day light which is fairly annoying as it's an easy detail to correct.

It also annoyed me a bit with the details on a few United player in particular, for example they put Tevez with ankle tape and black boots, when in reality he wears white nike boots and no ankle tape.

Theres also the elements of weather they need to bring to the new game, in the 08' version they only had clear sunny weather and with just an option of playing in the day or night, i hope they tweak this also.

I've heard rumours that they will make the pitch cut up when a player slides in for a tackle and that in manager mode they pitches will get worse during the winter months.

Also the gameplay has apparently been made a bit quicker to cope with the modern game.

Let me know what you think the new Fifa series will improve ? and post sneak previews od the 09' series if you find anything :)

i play fifa 08 manager mode on ps2 and there is nigh for europian/league cup/friendly ;)
you can choose weather to play night or day when playing classic mode :)

ohh, well on xbox 360 you cant do that abo. Hopefully this wil be an improvement in the new game. Hopefully it will be amazing, i think it will be because the 08' version was brilliant, as i've said i can only see a few improvements needed, for example the gameplay probably needs to be made a bit quicker and te shooting needs to be made easier.

you cant buy a player from liverpool or city
and when you play versus liverpool away you will find a funny banner "scouse and proud" :D
this stuff makes the game better
also the matches have better atmosphere
you hear glory glory sang and many other chants
while this stuff you do not hear when playing pes

btw about the earlier post about pro eve being better than Fifa, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but Fifa has absolutely killed pro eve this last year and proably last year aswell.

I cannot wait for 09' :D

fifa is the better game imo.
i would love to see the transfer system improved e.g player swaps also it would be good if you could put a marker on a player and watch his development over a season or 2 before buying , maybe a buy and loan back option.
the game play will be tweaked no doubt, i hope to see improvements in shooting and the free kick system needs an on screen radar for better accuracy.

player likeness need more attention to detail, some players have been given moustaches when clearly they dont have one in the real world. this is really annoying.

Basically for me if they tweak the game play, and make the career mode (manager mode) better they have an all round top class game, that will go from strength to strength.

i hope fifa 09 have corrected Rio hair, Vida face, Cantona foot, and Giggs hair (he was quit bold in 08)
and i hope our new youngsters will be included (The Silva's Possebon Campbell and Wellbeck) and also be fairly rated (and i wish they make the real face details of all of our players)

if they do all that i reckon every United fan will buy the game

Update: Latest news from GC is that the exclusive PS3 feature is: FIWC being built into the game. So gamers can track progress, play games etc through the game rather than be so website reliant.

Up until the release of Pro Evo 2007, my loyalty to Pro quickly vanished! Although fifa 08's gameplay (in my opinion) was still not as good as Pro's, it overtook pro evo in being the best football game.
I've seen screens for both Fifa 09 & Pro Evo 09, and fifa just totally blows pro out of the water! If anyone who has played the Euro 2008 game it is much improved compared to fifa 08, i couldn't fault the gameplay & player movements, which i believe supercedes Pro evo's gameplay. If anyone could further confirm this, i do believe the gameplay engine used in that game will be incorporated into fifa 09, to which, IMO will really make Fifa 09 the best footballing game ever, in all aspects.
A snag that bothered me in F'08, is when playing at Old trafford and the ball goes out of play and rolls down the small 'embankment', the player more often than not stay on the same level and appears to float in mid-air.
Also, the default away stadium, (aztec stadium???) when playing a premiership season i think should be able to be changed or at least look abit more... english..?

I totally am the same Briscoe, pes was the best untill last years version... online was appauling and the game frame slowed offline. So i bought Fifa and i was much more happer with that, and i can tell you with 80% certainty that FIFA 09 has the same gameplay as EURO..Which is great because like you have mentioned about EURO, its FIFA looks with PES like gameplay.

and something like a new attribute have been introduced and it is physical ability
which means that every body have his physical ability (Vidic and Rooney one of the strongest in the game :)) so if a player like defeo clashes with Vidic, Vida will win the ball and send Defeo down, and if Rooney clashes with Pyuol, Rooney will send Pyuol down (depends on thing, i couldn't understand everything of this point, new dribbling moves you can make with the trickstick, and every body will like this You can beat the other defenders without the need to use the trick stick you can beat the players just by changing directions like pes, so if the player have great ball control just run with the ball and turn right and left just like Messi

If EA just fix a few things they'll have the perfect game:

Make shirt names and numbers the actual size and position
Some form of direction indicator when taking a shot at goal
Player editor on PSP
Practice mode on PSP
Chip shots that actually work
Close range dribbling and ball skills

EA could do it so easily. Regardless, can't wait for the game to come out.

If I aim sideways slightly then it often flies wide. Even a half transparent and wavy shooting indicator would make a world of difference. The chip shots and ball skills on PSP aren't great either. Also, it's all but impossible to score from long range. And no, I don't suck at the game, it really is ridiculously difficult to shoot simple shots where you want them. It's just luck, which is okay against the AI but devastating when playing friends.

I can live with all that as long as EA puts the player editor and practice mode on PSP. Can't believe they keep missing it out.

why PSP you have PS3 and 360 so why you don't play FIFA 09 on consoles isntead of hand-held

Pre-ordered my copy for the Xbox 360 during my lunch break today.

I have bought every FIFA game since FIFA 2003 and this year was going to be no exception. I bought PES 4, 5 and 6 too but didn't bother last year because FIFA 2008 was so good. Hopefully, I won't have to buy PES this year either!

It's just i heard the way they do it is like .. Fifa 08 will be the same as 09. But the major changes are in 2010, and thats the way it is always done.

I have a PS2, (though getting a 360 for my birthday) and I have got to see, over the last year or 2 I have played Pro Evo more than Fifa.

Fifa is the better game. More realistic, better movements etc.

But I tended to find that it took ages to load between the ball going out of play or into the goal to the replay/throw in etc.

I also found that the gameplay was quite slow, though I'm not sure if that was true or not. The crossing and chipping also seemed to be a bit wayward imo. There was also other problems I can't really put my finger on.

It was great on the PS3 though when I played that, so hopefully if I get 09 for the 360 it will be similar to 08 on the PS3, with improvements.

player movement changed, passing changed ,dribbling changed everything is changed

Iv played the demo. Its nothing special.

With so much other better games coming out like Far Cry 2, Motorstorm2, Bioshock etc i definatly wont get this.

Iv gone off Football games after i found both Pro Evo and Fifa **** last year.

The demo really isn't anything special. The gameplay isn't that good, i had Euro 08 and if you had that game you will find it very similar, esepcially the passing and shooting.

In the arena, when you can do pens, i had 4 of mine SAVED in a row. He nearly ALWAYS guesses the right way.

The demo is great, the final product shoukld be brilliant!!!
Its faster, more responsive, better control on the ball, keepers are faster so they actuali save a second shot instead of allways scroing the rebound...headering is improved alot aswell!!

Im downloading the demo now, the graphics will not be great on my pc but i just want to see the gameplay. I have been a PES fan boy for ever but I have really not been impressed with the PES 2009 gameplay videos so far, FIFA 09 looks the better game both in graphics and gameplay. I have to say this, I absolutely love the PS2 version of PES 2008, the gameplay is terrific. Game developers had not quite got to grips with the new technology yet so in the next gen versions of that game the animations and player movements was very rigid and not very fluid, the PS2 version is much better. I don't know if I should buy an Xbox 360 for the next gen version of either PES or FIFA, or just buy the PS2 version. What do you guys think I should do???
