I'm quite surprised that you all have Rooney in your teams. He played all but 3 games in the Prem. I watched all those games and I thought he had a very average season considering how talented he is. Ok he got 14 goals and 12 assists which isn't the worst but he was quite frustrating to watch at times. His touch seemed to desert him at times and he should have scored way more goals considering the chances he had. He always showed great effort and desire so I don't mean to be knocking him as he is one of my favorite players. I reckon next season he will be back to his brilliant best but the best two strikers in the league this year were Drogba and Berbatov by a long way

Mine is a bit different from the PFA's

GK-VDS by far the best in the premiership even though Cech can lay claim that he is better but he was injured for a huge chunk of the season so it definitely goes to big Ed.

RB-Gary Neville, best right back in the premiership and one of the best in the world in my opinion

CB-Rio Ferdinand, Best defender in England

CB-Nemanja Vidic, Him and Rio at the back-Unstoppable

LB-I'd pick Gallas, he has been solid for Arsenal

CM-Michael Essien-A class player who deserves more recognition, he has it all.

CM-Paul Scholes-the best midfielder in the premiership this season

CM-Cesc Fabregas-This lovable player has been class for Arsenal and a shining point in another miserable season for the Gunners.

RF-Ronaldo-Arguably the best in the world

CF-Drogba-A saving grace for Chelsea, has cemented his place as one of the games top strikers

LF-Berbatov-A bagful of goals in an average/good team with Paul Scholes, Fabregas feeding him he is surely bound to score more.

I agree with people who think Rooney underachieved last year, not saying that his contribution wasnt huge but there were way too many games where he was off the pace, sullen and his touch was poor. When he hit form he was untouchable but for significant chunks of the season he was not worth his place in the starting line-up. I think he will step up next season, I really feel he has it in him to get to 20 league goals when you think how many he got last season only playing well half the time. I have been very down on Saha recently, lets face it he is very frustrating at times, but having watched a few clips of last season, when he was there he was definitely worth having around, if he can just get a run at it he could establish himself as Rooney's partner.
