Man United are preparing a raid for Aldo Duscher after Deportivo La Coruna have given the green light for clubs to bid for their Argentine midfielder.

It had been thought that the tough-tackling 27-year-old was not for sale, but the Galician club have decided they have the options to cope with his departure.

The likes of Julian de Guzman, who impressed in his first season at El Riazor, could be given a given a more prominent role next term, should Duscher depart.

"We have options in our team to fill Duscher's position," revealed coach Joaquin Caparros.

The news is also likely to alert Newcastle and West Ham, who have all been long-term admirers of the South American ace.

Duscher, famed for the tackle that broke David Beckham's metatarsal ahead of the 2002 World Cup, could be The Red Devils' answer to filling the void created by Roy Keane's exit last term.

Depor are believed to value Duscher in the €9 million (£6.2 million) region, but with the player currently on holiday an imminent transfer is not expected.
