We have a thread about "What are you currently listening to".
But I want to know what is your favourite song lyrics of all time huh
Come on - dont be too shy - you can tell us - we're your friends :p
I got me an Irish daddy and I love the Wolfetones.....
My fave song though has to be ...
"The Fields of Athenry"
The proper version not that ***** the Liverpool fans sing at Anfield....."The Fields of Anfield Road"- there are no fields on Anfield Road anyway
Here's the lyrics and a video of Gary Og singing it live - check out the Celtic fans singing along too........
Enjoy........
Then add yours too so we can listen or read OK ... x
By a lonely prison wall,
I heard a young girl call:
"Michael, they have taken you away,
For you stole Trevelyn's corn,
So the young might see the morn.
Now a prison ship lies waiting in the bay."
Low lie the fields of Athenry
Where once we watched the small free birds fly
Our love was on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
It's so lonely round the fields of Athenry.
By a lonely prison wall,
I heard a young man call
"Nothing matters, Mary, when you're free
Against the famine and the crown,
I rebelled, they cut me down.
Now you must raise our child with dignity."
Low lie the fields of Athenry
Where once we watched the small free birds fly
Our love was on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
It's so lonely round the fields of Athenry.
By a lonely harbor wall,
She watched the last star fall
As the prison ship sailed out against the sky
For she lived to hope and pray
For her love in Botany Bay
It's so lonely round the fields of Athenry.
Low lie the fields of Athenry
Where once we watched the small free birds fly
Our love was on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
It's so lonely round the fields of Athenry.

That's a tough one, but if I could only pick one song I guess it would be Unfinished Sympathy by Massive Attack...
I know that I've imagined love before
And how it could be with you
Really hurt me baby, really cut me baby
How can you have a day without a night
You're the book that I have opened
And now I've got to know much more
The curiousness of your potential kiss
Has got my mind and body aching
Really hurt me baby, really cut me baby
How can you have a day without a night
You're the book that I have opened
And now I've got to know much more
Like a soul without a mind
In a body without a heart
I'm missing every part
(x5)
Hey, hey, hey...life.

Music For The Jilted Generation is easily their best album. Fat Of The Land was good in parts but I wasn't impressed by Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned.
My favourite Prodigy track is Voodoo People. I think they stole the intro for that from a Nirvana song.
Although the video for Smack My Bitch Up is, er,...interesting...to say the least!

Is that the german techno version?
or some proper funky breakbeat vibe?
(you should come along to one of our squat party raves that'll sort you out):)

This is pure cheese but you will love it.
If you feel that love is but a kiss away,
close your eyes and take it.
And if you feel that pain can tear you into,
then go ahead and bare it.
urrrrrgh im gonna be sick. x
Thankyou to Paul Young, never fails!

It all depends on the mood really.
Right now I'm pretty mellow so I'd say Fur Elise or Moonlight Sonata.
... Though Sway by Coal Chamber is always a good one :D

Ag-a-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody
I met a hula mistress somewhere in Waikiki
Well she was sellin' pineapple, playin' ukulele
And when I went to the girl, come on and teach me to sway
She laughed and whispered to me, yes come tonight to the bay
The lovely beach, in the sky the moon of Kauai
Around calypso sarong we'll all be singin' this song
Ag-a-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody
And down on the shore they gather romance
She showed me much more, not only to dance...
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody

Haha! We had an older Hawaiian lady work at my parent's restaurant. After close, she would hula around while walking putting stuff away. It was so funny watching her try to teach everyone.
Good times :D

my fav is
something inside so strong!
a few years ago i was stabbed 8 times when i was out drinking round manchester the knife went through my diafram, kidneys, lung, spleen (which was taken out) and one blow stopped 1 centremeter away from my heart. i was taken to hospital where i had emergancy surgery (12 hour op) the doctors told my mum and dad i was not going till pull through.
while i was in hospital this song became an insperration to me and helped me on my road to recovery so this will always be my fav.

the lyrics=
The higher you build your barriers
The taller I become
The farther you take my rights away
The faster I will run
You can deny me
You can decide to turn your face away
No matter, cos there's....
Something inside so strong
I know that I can make it
Tho' you're doing me wrong, so wrong
You thought that my pride was gone
Oh no, something inside so strong
Oh oh oh oh oh something inside so strong
The more you refuse to hear my voice
The louder I will sing
You hide behind walls of Jericho
Your lies will come tumbling
Deny my place in time
You squander wealth that's mine
My light will shine so brightly
It will blind you
Cos there's......
Something inside so strong
I know that I can make it
Tho' you're doing me wrong, so wrong
You thought that my pride was gone
Oh no, something inside so strong
Oh oh oh oh oh something inside so strong
Brothers and sisters
When they insist we're just not good enough
When we know better
Just look 'em in the eyes and say
I'm gonna do it anyway x 4
Something inside so strong
And I know that I can make it
Tho' you're doing me wrong, so wrong
You thought that my pride was gone
Oh no, something inside so strong
Oh oh oh oh oh something inside so strong
Brothers and sisters
When they insist we're just not enough
When we know better
Just look 'em in the eyes and say
I'm gonna do it anyway x 4
Because there's something inside so strong
And I know that I can make it
Tho' you're doing me, so wrong
Oh no, something inside so strong
Oh oh oh oh oh something inside so strong

That beats any reason i had for my favourite song, nice one on coming through, I beleive that positive thinking has a serious impact on whether people survive or die in these situations, will power is very important. Seemed to work for you =]
