I am new to these forums but not to United. I have supported the Reds since watching the '63 final on TV as a young lad and of course being from Northern Ireland was a great Best fan later on.
My first match at Old Trafford was in May '76 when I was a student living in England. It was the derby game just three days after we lost to Southampton in the FA Cup final. My mate who was a Mancunian and big Reds fan got us tickets and we stood in the Stretford End. We destroyed City 2-0 that night with goals from Sammy Mac and Gordon Hill right in front of the Stretford End. (Joe Corrigan never even smelled them!!) So I fulfilled a lot of boyhood dreams that evening (going to OT, standing on the Stretford End, seeing us beating City).
Been back many times since although harder for us over here to get tickets these days.
