LOUIS Saha is ready to ease United's striker crisis by bouncing back from his injury nightmare.

Reds boss Sir Alex Ferguson has seen his forwards department badly hit by injury and suspension - and his hopes of buying in reinforcements before Friday's transfer deadline are fading.
Saha had trained well last week according to the Reds chief and was expected to feature in some capacity against Tottenham on Sunday.

However, the 29-year-old Frenchman only made it to the VIP seats with the United manager believing he still wasn't 100 per cent ready make his comeback.

Saha, though, has continued with his intense Carrington training spell having recovered following his summer knee operation, and it is now understood he is set for at least a place in Fergie's 16 against Sunderland.

It would be his first action since a substitute appearance against AC Milan in the San Siro in the Champions League last May.

He hasn't started a game since scoring at Reading in the FA Cup replay at the Madejski Stadium in February.

Following that outing, his injury woes continued with a hamstring problem and then subsequent knee surgery.

With only Carlos Tevez as a recognised front man currently available, Saha's return against Sunderland would come as a welcome relief.

I happy with this years accusitions in midfield and tevez, but after looking at letting
smith go. i wonder if fergie was thinking rooney, tevez and saha was enough for strikers,if this is the case i think it was mistake.

if saha is healthy the rest of year he should kill some keepers confidence!
we need a big striker in form now! ! !
