Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has warned Andriy Shevchenko and Michael Ballack over moaning about their lack of minutes this season.

"Shevchenko and Ballack have to give more because their status is not superior to that of the others," Mourinho told The Sun.

"Each is a champion," he added. "They have quality, status and fame. They're rich and have already won a lot of trophies. All that is an undeniable fact.

"But it's one thing their being the centre surrounded by 20 nobodies, and it's something else these two players arriving at a club where the others are already champions, famous and rich."

I tend to agree with Jose in respect of the fact that these are all good swimmers in a swimming pool full of olympic swimmers. He makes sense. If you translate these words into Fergies mouth about our own players, you would agree with him.

The way I translate these words is that, no matter how good a player you think you are, and you are, its on the field of play that you have to prove it, every day, every game.

Being a "superstar" in any given sport means that you have to work harder to maintain that "status". Being Mr Average does not warrant the same sort or attention or expectations.

Look at Wayne as an example. To coin a phrase, he wears his heart on his sleeve. He gives 100% every time he puts on that shirt, he never stops for the full duration of the game and he plays for the team. He loves playing football and as a result, you get his best. The same can be said about Gary Neville and Paul Scholes; you know you are going to get 100%.

Now, lets look at Rio, for example. Makes all the right noises in the press, talks a good talk but can be found lacking on the field. His concentration can falter and he patrols the defence like a sentry who has "been awake too long". When he decides to perform, he does it admirably but he does not give 100% and never has done.

Now, back to Chelski. Watch these two players on the field if you get the chance. They "strut" - they do not play. They "command" attention but do not earn it with sterling performances. The only players who give 100% to the team are Terry, Drogba and Lampard, whether you like them or not.

Shev WAS a great player, in Italy. But, here his lack of pace is showing. The Prem is too fast for him. I do not think he could fit into our team. The best player ever from over there was Kanchelskis, hurricane on legs and would rip any defence apart, lethal right foot too.

Man did he really say that, where is the source?

Sounds seriously harsh.. You shouldn't say that to your players...

I just like Jose Mourinho's language. He is so understandable.

Jose brought fresh wind into PL.
