Don't like wishing injury on anyone but a blessing in disguise for united. Fletcher is crap and at least he won't feature on Saturday.

I wouldnt say that he is crap, Flecther always does the job the he is asked to do and i think that over the last year he has been well. He's the captain of his country as well and lets not forget that his country are sitting top of one of the hardest groups for Euro 2008.

Hope the injury isnt bad!!

I don't think he's a crap, he is capable of playing for MUFC, especially when someone is injured.

Its idiots like you that make me not want to bother talking to people on forums anymore...

Darren is captain of Scotland on top of the hardest group. Has had many caps for Man Utd. Runs his ass off and never gets tired. Puts in hard tackles. Can play anywhere across the midfield and even fill in effectively at RB. Did you watch the champions league last season much?

I bet you are the kind of guy who 2 season ago was saying how crap Hargreaves was, just because he plays in germany and hardly got watched by english supporters.

Fletcher will be an important player for us as the season unfolds. He's a maturing squad player that has improved season after season.

I hope he and O'Shea both make a quick recovery.

A player devoid of pace, has no composure, constantly gives the ball away. a liability.

I've watched the lad on a regular basis (home and away) since he broke into the United 1st team. Not good enough, never will be.

now if you want to turn this into a personal slanging match then bring it on.

hey, maybe fletch is not a star, but he is an established player and he plays "with heart". and it's a big loss that he will be out for 6 weeks after a challenge by the most disgusting player(my opinion) patrick vieira in Scotland's Euro 2008 win in Paris on Wednesday

Fletchers decent and underrated in my opinion...but saying that he will(well atm anyway) never be anything more than backup to our team.

Fletcher is a good player, he has scores a couple of vital goals and plays well, like in the 7-1 romping of roma, him and smith where awesome! If he's still at united he must be doing something right!

i agree with you bob 100%, anyone who thinks fletcher is good enuff for utd needs there eyes tested everything bob has said there is spot on the only thing missing what bob left out is, he can't tackle- he just runs at the side of people, the only thing hes got going for him is his engine

any one who thinks he's good enuff for utd ask your self this question- if he had not come through the youth system, would fergie go out and buy him? no fcuking chance

if we got a bid for him this summer i have no doubts fergie would of accepted it, but no one came in for him. he has not had a sniff of 1st team football this season in most games he hasn't even made the bench i think that tells it own story

He came on as a sub against Reading but I agree that he's not United quality.

I think people tend to write off young players far too easily. Fletcher is still only 23 so still has plenty of time to prove himself at this level and has improved over the last couple of seasons. If he is to develop further he must be played in central midfield - he's useless on the right.

But I have to say that, in Fletchers case, he'll never be good enough to be in our 1st choice 16 although he could prove to be a useful member of the squad in years to come.

I admire him for fighting for his place because he gets relentless stick from the OT faithful and would probably be a starter for most of the bottom half teams in the Prem or in Scotland.

All ive got to say is fletcher can put tremendous pressure in midfield and is always put into games when we need control won, remember fergie puts him in at specific
times,so overall i think i'll go with fergie, fletcher is good!

HES CALLED A SQUAD PLAYER.
Hes not meant to be good! Hes meant to be decent enough to fill in for an injured player.
And I dont know why your hating on him so much. He's the captain of his national team who are doing ****ing superb with him at the helm.

Oh dear. Another one...

Not going anywhere sunshine. Take your red tinted glasses off and you'll see how ***** fletcher is.

Captain of Scotland? he could captain italy, he'd still be crap. Get shut and give Darren Gibson a chance.

Bob whenever he's been asked to do a job he's done it....and last season espically he did that job excellantly!

Give him a ****ing chance..
