tbh it might be good its coming out later where you are. Konami might have released a patch or update etc to fix some of the problems. The online mode is lagging alot which isnt good

pes 2008 is good

but atm the online play isnt working very well.......Konami are hopewfully going to release an update/patch soon though to fix the problems.

The gameplay on pro evo offline though is still awsome and better than pro evo 6 ;)

Id go for Pro evo over fifa but alot of my mates would pick fifa

I downloaded the demo from PSN Network ( Playstation Network ) it really sucked hardcore. Frames skipped ... Really sticky people . When I play the Fifa 08 demo its more realistic sure it's a pain to keep on starting halfs but better then playing sticky . So my bro might get the game or not not sure.

The graphical depictions of top players' features are much improved.



Another year, another PES, but 2008 will not go down as a vintage offering.

On the pitch, PES still shines.

The players feel weighty and under your control, the ball pings about as you'd
expect and the games are fast and fluid.

Compared to the glacial pace of Fifa, this speed is welcome.

The improvements in AI are noticeable, while the graphical depictions of the top
players - both face and body - are impressive.

But off the pitch, things go wrong.

Online play is a laggy mess, and there is still no sign of the co-op play you would
expect to see in 2007.

Juddery replays and occasional slowdowns are further niggles, and the product as a whole feels rushed and unfinished.

For most games this would be too much, but PES still plays the best videogame
football around. Just don't expect a revolution.

This is because your an educated member of the masses who buy the name with the most branding. If you want hip hop soundtracks and the faces of Rooney and Ronaldihno splashed everywhere, get FIFA. If you want a realistic gaming experience, get PES. Always has and always will be better.

Newcastle and Spurs are licenced and anyway, I love editing the kits, so if a team changes sponsor, you can change it in the game too. There's all the main leagues plus other teams and who needs leagues when you've got Master League?? Best option in a game ever, lets players develop and you can go on to win things etc..... It's the only game I ever play, (Besides Gran Turismo 4) and I wouldn't swap it for FIFA any day!! lol. Like the staddiums in FIFA, thats about it.....

ever since pro evo 5 i have preferred pro evo to fifa by a long way but with pro evo 2008 i feel they took a step back from pro evo 6. Fifa on the other hand added some brilliant features and with the licensing, the graphics, and the be a pro feature in contention with pro evos poor graphics, same gameplay as before with a few pointless things like diving and cutscenes and a slight different movement thrown in, i would have to say that i now prefer Fifa by a long way.

I've been a Pro Evo fan for many years..it's gameplay has outclassed Fifa for the last ten years. But the latest edition is complete *****! Goalkeepers...when faced with a simple shot...palm the ball in the direction of the nearest attacker to tap into the net! I'm sticking with Pro Evo 6 ;)

couldnt agree more, people think because there are new pointless features that its a better game...its poor. And not only do the keepers palm the ball into the attackers path...they also follow you out when your leaving your half:confused: ?

I had been playing with united and trouncing everyone. So i decided to play with Villa, a team I like, but obv a few classes below us. I feel like 80% of the goals the computer scores are:

-my keeper palming it DIRECTLY to an opponent in front of the net for a tap in
-a cross where 3 of my defenders miss the header and the computer player heads it in effortlessly.

pretty frustrating. I almost broke my controller playing rangers (wtf?) to get promoted from England D2.

also the free kicks are so bad. FIFA's is way way way too easy and PES's makes no sense and is ridiculously inconsistent.

PES 08 in my opinion owns fifa 08. Fifa 08 okay fine its good but PES has always had proper gameplay and Fifa 08 to me always has more glitches etc. Also I cant find in Fifa 08 a proper master league. Theres only "Manager Mode" fair enough its the same but I think that PES just has the better gameplay and real-ism.

Well you may all agree PES is better on whatever console you have,
But on the 360 i have to say which is very hard to say but FIFA is better than PES2008..

Apart from the nicer passing and tearing defence apart, i think lasting appeal FIFA wins: Manager Mode, BE A PRO (which is fookin amazing!) and the Challenges,and the Lounge mode, also the addition of buying things from the shop is nice like 3rd kits and other bits and bobs, also for online play FIFA defo wins, PES lags like a biatch! and BE A PRO online kicks ass with 9 mates playing together as a player each kicking ass!
I do like PES and to be fair havn't played FIFA since FIFA 05 so don't know how bad the other ones are but 2008 is FIFA's year on the 360 anyway.. PES will bounce back and should be on top again for 2009!

O yeah the loading mini game is great fun!

I dont know crap about fifa but I am pretty happy with pes2008 on ps2 its really slick and I find the A.I. to be pretty sharp this time v/s last year. The biggest improvement in the game for me is passing into space , this really is awesome when you catch teams on attack and can burn them with rested players.
