That says it all really. he has an unbelievable amount of contacts. A fair few clubs were in for Elano but Erikkson snapped him up.
I seem to be forever bigging up City for some strange reason but Id have to disagree with you Nirk, City have a lot of great players not just Elano and Petrov.

I've been stunned by City this season.

I expected them to improve with the amount of money they spent but I was thinking top half finish - not competing for a European place.

For all the stick Eriksson got as England manager he was excellent at club level when given money to spend and he's proving that once again at City.

I heard his performances at Shakhtar left alot to be desired, he wasn't playing good.
He got off to a great start at Shakhtar just like at City but then went down hill!

as i am citys number one fan, i think its only right i should comment on this thread

elano is a the main cog in citys wheel he makes things happen and every thing goes through him.

every time he gets the ball all us fans at the city of manchester stadium are on the edge of our seats expecting something to happen :0)

Richards will be wearing Red soon. Petrov is a winger not a striker and Johnson is completely a future prospect. He's quite slow and tbh all his good work has come from Elano.

I cant see why evveryone was on Svens back all the time. I honestly think Sven was a good international manager. He got you to a load of quarter finals in major tournaments, which is pretty good. England always seemed to get knocked out on penalties which is hardly Svens fault. It was more bad luck in some cases. All the years he was in charge he never made too many mistakes apart from bringing Walcott to the 2006 WC and one or two others. He was a bit unlucky with injuries as well. The media hated him because he never seemed to show much passion, which is a load of old toff. McClarens come in and is clearly not the man either. Stick with the foreigners I say!

That is usually a good manager in most eyes being able to do that. But what I think made him look bad was the fact that the English media and fans get such high expectations when it all falls to pieces they blame Sven or any manager at the time.
The high expections and excitment and media convincing made Sven look alot worse of a manager than he really is!

i agree, i liked sven and his record for england was a good one he only lost one qualifier. and only brazil knocked us out of a major championship with out it going to pens.

so what he liked to shag around, who doesn't? as long as he was doing the business on the pitch who gives a fcuk about his private life
