Vidic in squad for Kiev encounter

Vidic missed United's 4-1 victory at Aston Villa on Saturday

Champions League, Group F match
Date: Tuesday, 23 October
Kick-off: 1945 BST
Venue: NSC Olympiyskiy Stadium

Louis Saha's knee problem has kept the striker out of Manchester United's
Champions League trip to Ukraine but Nemanja Vidic is in the squad.

Saha, who last played for United in the 1-0 win over Roma on 2 October, was
hoping to play against Dynamo Kiev.

Defender Vidic has not played since suffering a concussion against Wigan two
weeks ago.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said: "He will be close but I'm not sure if he will be
ready to play."

Saha was not in the Red Devils' travelling party which headed out to Kiev on
Sunday.

But Serbian centre-back Vidic has travelled and will be assessed in the next 24
hours.

Ferguson added: "Vidic trained on Friday but he is still feeling some reaction.

"I'm hopeful he will be ready. In his situation you can't take a chance - he will be
close but I'm not so sure he will be ready to play."

If Vidic is ruled out then Wes Brown is likely to partner Rio Ferdinand at the heart
of the United back four.

I'm not too sure it is worth risking him against Kiev.

Now we have discovered how to score goals again it takes a little
pressure off the back four now.

For all this season so far we could not aford to leak a single goal.

Not with 1-0 wins our only results.

Now though we resemble the team of last year - if we concede 1 we will score 2.

Rest Vidic.........

Nah, we will need him in this game, i have a feeling they will be quite tough to beat, but we will still cremate (sp) them! :)

Since it's more about the player(s) instead of the general game itself, I think it's fine here :)

But yeah, I'd like to see him back. Brown just makes me nervous sometimes :)

No point of risking Vid may as well leave him out then play him for the next game ready for the big one against arsenal!

If he's ok he will play. He's as tough as they come but I still expect him to play.
