Paul Scholes goes for a scan tomorrow which could confirm Manchester United’s
fears that he will be out for three months.
Scholes has a damaged knee and one recent scan proved inconclusive. But the
initial diagnosis was not optimistic – with the club resigned to the player having
to undergo surgery.
Now – because of Scholes’s importance to the side – they are sending the player
for another scan tomorrow and United are praying for better news.
Scholes himself is less optimistic. If he is ruled out for three months then he will
be out of action until well into the New Year.
The news spoiled United boss Sir Alex Ferguson’s weekend after he saw his side
go top of the table with a win over Boro.
