LONG WAIT IS OVER FOR BORED NEVILLE
GARY NEVILLE finally returns from the longest and most frustrating injury absence
of his career tonight, admitting he has been bored out of his brain.
The Manchester United captain will end a seven-month lay-off when he plays in
the Manchester Senior Cup tie against Stockport at Northwich Victoria’s ground.
During the 228 days since a tackle by Gary Speed in the Premier League clash
with Bolton at Old Trafford on March 17 left him with serious ankle ligament
damage, Neville has missed 31 first-team fixtures, six pre-season friendlies,
including United’s trip to the Far East, plus nine England internationals – a total
of 46 matches.

for it to go into this season has been doubly frustrating" ~ Gary Neville
He had to sit and watch the run-in as United captured their first championship
since he was made skipper, the first FA Cup final to be staged at the new
Wembley, and England’s first game at their new home.
To add to his frustration he has seen Wes Brown and Micah Richards stake their
claims for his club and international right-back place, Paul Scholes leapfrog him
into second place behind Ryan Giggs in the club’s appearances chart, as well as
speculation that
