Kuszczak's immediate future has finally been settled.

Manchester United have signed West Brom goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak on a season-long loan from West Brom, with a view to a permanent move.
Sir Alex Ferguson's attempts to land the Polish international have been frustrated throughout the summer, with an initial £2.5m bid rejected.

In exchange, West Brom will get defender Paul McShane and goalkeeper Luke Steele on a permanent basis.

Kuszczak's arrival also means Ben Foster will be able to stay at Watford.

I'm glad this has finally materialised, although I don't know whether it was a pure exchange or there was some cash also sent WBA's way.

Well, I knew it would be impossible for both Ben Foster and Tomasz to be at United at the same time so I am happy Ben will get EPL experience at Watford and welcome to our new No. 2. :)

United New Boy Signs Four-Year Deal
Fri 11 Aug, 12:09 PM

Manchester United chief executive David Gill has confirmed Tomasz Kuszczak has signed a four-year contract with the Old Trafford club.

The Old Trafford outfit announced Kuszczak's arrival from West Brom yesterday but curiously failed to state the terms of the deal.

West Brom suggested the 24-year-old had initially signed on loan, with a view to the deal becoming permanent, although Gill has now clarified the situation.

"Tomasz will be a Manchester United player for the next four years," he said.

"He has come to us on loan for the first year and then will join us permanently in July 2007.

"We would not have been interested in signing any player, even as one as good as Tomasz, on loan. We would hope Tomasz remains a Manchester United player for many years to come."

Sir Alex Ferguson has been chasing Kuszczak for most of the summer.

After protracted discussions, United agreed to let Paul McShane and Luke Steele join the Baggies as part of the deal.

In addition, Ben Foster has returned to Watford for a second season in order to gain greater Premiership experience
