I am watching highlights for the french league, and just saw Kim Kallstrom play for lyon. He looked very good attacking and going forward and he set up a goal, what are everyone else's opinion on him for a replacement for Scholes.
Anyone who has played the earlier versions of Football Manager (Championship Manager) would know who Kallstrom is.
He is definitely someone in the Carrick/Scholes mould, is a solid player who has also played for the Swedish NT.

I would not compare fictional players in a game with the real thing. I once had Rory Delap in a team, he ended up with playing for England and he was worthy mega bucks ;)

Well I say we already got one in Carrick if we get Hargreaves or Senna. If we get either one of those we can certainly put Carrick in an advance position. there is no doubting his vission and passing so he will do great there.

i think we have a replacement for scholes in wayne rooney. Michael carrick doesn't have the eye for goal scholes has whilehagreaves doesn't go forward asmuch

You obviously didn't see him against Andorra. He could have had a hat trick, hitting the post twice and the bar.

i did see most of the andorra game and if i remember correctly his shots that hit the woodwork were from a set piece and a long range effort, hardly similar to the runs made into the penalty area we see from scholes

I think he would be an asset to United anyway. Definitely England's man of the world cup.

For sure he’d be a useful player, hence I was calling for him when he was available on the cheap two years ago, but I certainly wouldn’t want to sign him now at the inflated fee and wages he’d demand.
I’m in total agreement with KingSingh on this one. Rooney is the most natural Scholes replacement, while Carrick (minus drifts into the box plus tackling) and the invisible man David Jones are very much in the Scholes type midfield mould.
Definitely England's man of the world cup.
Now that is damning with faint praise :) That is going to rank up there with our man of the series after the one dayers against Pakistan.
