OWEN HARGREAVES last night taunted Arsenal by claiming that Manchester United
showed they are the best team in England.
The England midfielder was at the heart of the United side that ended the 100
per cent home record of Arsene Wenger’s table-toppers on Saturday.
It was his first chance to see the Gunners up close and he reckons United play
better football and were unfortunate not to win the match.
Hargreaves, 26, said: “Arsenal had plenty of possession but were never
threatening and football is about winning games and scoring goals.
“I don’t think they created a clear-cut chance in the first half, so we did a good
job controlling their so-called beautiful football.
“Both of our goals were beautiful pieces of play but their goals were a bit more
scrappy and straight in front of the goal.
“We were a bit unlucky to concede, especially the second one.”
