Louis Saha has revealed his delight at making his first Premier League start of the season for Manchester United in their 2-0 victory over Blackburn on Sunday.
Saha - who did start against Roma in the UEFA Champions League - has struggled with persistent injury problems this season, but he got an opportunity against Rovers in the absence of Wayne Rooney.
The French striker has made only nine appearances for the defending Premier League champions this season but he was happy with his performance against Blackburn after Rooney was ruled out with an ankle injury.
Saha did not score or play a role in creating United's two goals, but he insists he is content with his return to manager Sir Alex Ferguson's first-team.
Important
"I won't complain (about failing to score). It has been such a long time since I was in the starting XI," Saha said in L'Equipe.
"I was in the starting XI against Roma, but that day I was not at my best.
"It went smoothly against Blackburn and above all the team has won and that is most important.
"I took advantage of the Wayne Rooney injury, but that is why a whole squad is useful."
He needs to up his fitness though......radio commentary opinion was that he was one step behind the rest of the United team..as the pace was so intense....
