Belgium and the Netherlands have submitted a joint bid to host the 2018 World Cup.
The two associations, who jointly hosted Euro 2000, met with Fifa president Sepp Blatter on Wednesday to announce their bid.
England have also made a bid to host the 2018 tournament, much to the delight of Blatter.
"It says everything about the popularity of football in general and the Fifa World Cup in particular that we already have concrete proposals for the 2018 World Cup," said Blatter.
Fifa had planned to rotate the host nation of the World Cup around the respective confederations, but they recently scrapped the proposal which allows a European nation the opportunity of hosting the tournament in 11 years time.
China, Australia, Mexico, the United States, Russia and Spain have all also expressed an interest in hosting the 2018 tournament.
A Fifa executive committee will announce the host nation in 2011.
