Sir Alex's Son Clarets Manager ?
Peterborough United manager, Darren Ferguson, who is the son of Manchester
United boss, Sir Alex, is the latest manager rumoured to have been interviewed
by Burnley. It is also understood he is interested in the opportunity.
The Peterborough chairman, Darragh MacAnthony though is clearly not happy
whilst denying the rumour.
'There's been no approach and I have no idea where that has come from,' said
MacAnthony.
'If they approached me about talking to Darren, my answer would be simple: No
way!
It is widely understood that Burnley FC may be more interested in young
managers with potential rather than senior, experienced managers from the old
school. Darren Ferguson has already shown he can get Peterborough into the
automatic promotion places during his short time at the club. But is this for a
League 2 club really enough to take the risk that he could do great things for our
beloved Championship club?
His obvious links with Manchester United though, where he was also a player for
a spell, might also be an advantage especially if he needs to negotiate owt with
daddy! www.vitalfootball.co.uk
