K4T mentioned a question which was pretty good........

In between worrying about his sexuality and the posting of 10,000,000 Vengaboys youtube videos he does actually function quite notmally..

Contrary to popular belief :p

Anyway.....

Giggs retired from international football quite early.......

He also missed many, many matches.......

Scholes too...........

He retired from international duties well before he was due to.....

Does anyone think Fergie had any influence in their decisions to do this ?

I think their families would have had a bigger input.

They may have consulted Fergie about it and he would, I presume, think it was a good idea but I don't think he would have suggested it to them - it's not his place to do so.

I don't believe that Fergie would have said outright don't play for your country although I would imagine that he would have dropped a few subtle hints injuries age less games and more games for United etc

Would also have expected both players to have at least talked it over with Fergie before announcing their decision

Paul Scholes said when he retired from England, it was a family decision. Giggs said himself that his legs are no longer able to carry him as he would desire, so he has to use his brain instead, and, as he wanted to carry on at OT for a while yet, decided that it would best suit his personal health if he did not involve himself in Welsh game from then on.
