RED DEVILS FACE TEVEZ DILEMMA

Manchester United could miss the man Ryan Giggs calls their "extra dimension" up
front for their Premier League trip to Bolton on Saturday.

Carlos Tevez is facing a race against time to return from South America where he
has been involved in two gruelling World Cup qualifiers with Argentina.

Tevez admits he is exhausted after the double-header against Bolivia and
Colombia despite being sent off after just 24 minutes of the latter clash.

He is scheduled to touch down in Manchester just 24 hours before kick-off,
leaving boss Sir Alex Ferguson with a big decision to make about his forward line
-up.

With Wayne Rooney still sidelined, the absence of Tevez would leave Ferguson
with just one fit striker in Louis Saha for the clash with Gary Megson's men.

Tevez said: "Coming to Argentina and playing in such conditions killed me. We are
trying to rest to the maximum to recover from injury."

United veteran Giggs believes Ferguson's summer signings have improved the Old
Trafford squad no end and is relishing the remainder of the season.

Giggs told manutd.com: "When you come into training and you're up against
young, quality players it's a test every day.

"There's so much enthusiasm amongst the lads and it's a great place to be at the
moment. The new lads have all bedded in really well.

"They have all brought something new to the team. Nani with his spectacular
goals and celebrations, while Anderson has shown what a top player he is.

"We knew all about Owen's [Hargreaves] qualities and he's produced those every
time he's played and Carlos has brought that extra dimension to our attacking
play."

Meanwhile in-form left-back Patrice Evra is in talks to extend his existing contract
at Old Trafford.

The Frenchman already has a deal up to 2009 but his agent told the Manchester
Evening News the player is willing to commit to a longer-term future.

Agent Federico Pastorello said: "Patrice is under contract until 2009 and he is very
happy at Manchester United.

"He has a great relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson and he has a lot of respect for
him.

"He would be happy to extend his stay as he enjoys playing with such great
players and such a great club."
