Manchester United defender Wes Brown has today been linked with a January
move to Newcastle United after it was revealed he has rejected a new four-year
deal at the club.

Brown, whose contract runs out at Old Trafford in the summer was apparently
offered £50,000 a week but for some reason or another he has rejected.

Brown has been at the club for 11 years now and on numerous occasions he has
been linked with moves away from the club. Although Brown has played many
many games for the Premier League giants, he has never been a regular starter
with the likes of Gary Neville, Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand keeping him out of
the team in recent months and years.

It would be a terrific signing for Newcastle if they were to get Brown because one
thing Brown always gives you is maximum effort. Newcastle really need
defenders at the moment with the side letting in 24 goals already this season.
Brown has been a great servant to United .

Now, before y'all start jumping down my throat, I have to say that I respect the
guy very much. BUT my respect for him started only few months ago when he
proved that he CAN play consecutive matches before making a crucial blunder. I
think that he has never had a quality to be a first team regular at United but
could be an asset to Newcastle or Pompey or to the clubs in their reach. He is a
sort of player who will play solid, good match and then at the 85th minute -
boom, a blackout . and the result of that blackout is us trailing the result.I
respect him for giving 100 percent and I'm not angry on him for his
disatvantages but I'm angry on some fans who even go that far to call
him "world class". Then I start to number all those mistakes he caused to prove
them wrong ( and that's when all the trouble begins, because a lot of people
when proved to be wrong start insulting ). Anyway - Wes, you've been offered
what you deserve, if you don't want to take it - goodbye and thank you for the
memories......

Perhaps there are some minor details in the contract that still need resolving. It's not just a case of money and length of contract - there are usually add-ons and clauses etc.

Although if there is a problem I'd rather let him move on for free in the summer than let him leave in January. We're already short of cover at left-back, so the last we thing we need is our right-back cover leaving, and we don't know how long Neville will take to get back his match fitness after being out for so long.

Hell NO! Gary Neville hasn't came back for us yet, & he wants 2 leave?! Somemore SAF revealed that he doesn't want to purchase anymore players in January! Looks like danger is ahead of us.....

i agree with RD....wes is a local lad who is united through and through....he loves it at utd and he's satisfied with the amount of games he gets when every one is fit

Newcastle can **** off. No way we should sell Wes! We need him, he is far too good (for newcastle) and a vastly under rated player

i agree - he always does a good job when called upon
not always - most of the time he's static, solid defender with no attacking play and very incosistent. but as i said earlier - he's improved on his consistency
