In a few hours time I will be taking my daughter to her first ever day at school. I am stupidly nervous about the whole thing, hence I’m sitting here at 3 in the morning rather than catching some sleep. It is the worst aspect of parenting, you become a totally neurotic paranoid freak.
Anyway it has got me thinking about first day horror stories. I never had any trouble as a kid, but it seems to have caught up with me a tad in adulthood. It started small on my first day at college, and has continued since. On my first day at college I met up with my mates at the end of a lecture and loudly bemoaned the fact that I’d got a right dickhead of a lecturer just as he walked past. Needless to say our relationship didn’t exactly thrive. University was even worse as I dinged a motor which just happened to belong to the senior tutor in my college.
Since then the minor first day faux pas has become a pretty constant companion throughout my working life, but I’ve never had one of the real horror stories that seem to strike an inordinate number of people. Any of you lot suffered first day trauma?
Haha, well that's pretty interesting to read. I'm sure I wouldn't have wanted to be in your shoes in such situations so I can consider myself lucky uptill now, but you never know, it could be waiting for me at the next corner :)

I can't remember if I have, not from recent years at least. The only thing I remember is crying when my parents dropped me off and left me at kindergarten!

If it is any consolation Shen your parents probably felt worse than you :)

Typical Crocky, Prison rehabilitations have done future generations in Australia no good whatsoever and proved that penal ( penal K4t..not ***** :D ) reforms were a complete waste of UK goverment expenses and provides further evidence that the representatives of the United Kindom should have not mediated to relocate reprobates into another society but .......
