Interesting point by Graeme Souness on tv:
Would I take the job on, yes. But I will need 3-4 years to get it sorted and with a different chairman. There are people within the club who are hell bent on disorder and tell tales especially FORMER EMPLOYEES of the club who were once players.

Plenty of rumours for Mark Hughes to take this job.....
Bit of a gamble for him if he does this.....
Putting his reputation on the line too.....
If Newcastle showe a little patience and gave managers time to do something
then yes he will do a nice job. But Newcastle with 8 different managers in 11
years don't have patience.

Souness is a desperate pratt. He has put himself forward for the Irish, Scottish, Newcastle jobs as well as having been turned down by most of the Prem clubs looking for a manager this season. He has proved to be a terrible manager who hasnt a clue. Desperate altogether...

Kevin Keegan hasn't ruled himself out of the job, he said it's the club he "loves", it would be good to see him back, I think he was great for them during the 90s. People say that Newcastle havent won a trophy in 50 years but Keegan won the old division one title in 1993 to promote them to the premiership, isn't that not a trophy?

I've seen vidos of how he cries years ago when United get back 12 points from Newcastle and whoop their butts.
I'd pay good money to see him crying again.........http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k211/small_carly/MSN/lmao.gif

i personally hope shearer gets the job ,and gets the geordies relegated , that would be quality.
it would finally shut those greatest fans in the world geordies up.
i will never forgive him for turning his back on us , not once but twice all for the money , the man lacked ambition and bottle

Keegan in shock Newcastle return
Newcastle have confirmed that Kevin Keegan will make a dramatic return to manage the club.
The 56-year-old former Manchester City boss managed the Magpies from 1992 to 1997 and will return to St James' Park as Sam Allardyce's successor.
Gerard Houllier and Didier Deschamps were strongly linked with the position in the last two days but the club unexpectedly turned to Keegan.
He was initially linked only with a partnership role with Alan Shearer.
The ex-England coach was running his "Soccer Circus" in Glasgow after quitting his job at City in March 2005.
He was also linked with a return to the club last summer as director of football following Mike Ashley's takeover.
Keegan told BBC Sport in October that he was unlikely to manage a team again.
But he returns to Newcastle, having said on Monday: "I'm not ruling myself out or in. It's a club I love, everyone knows that."
Keegan took Newcastle to promotion back to the top flight in 1993 and came close to winning the league title in the 1995-96 season when they led Manchester United by 12 points before finishing as runners up.
He went on to manage Fulham, England and Manchester City but has not managed again since leaving City.
Harry Redknapp had been first choice for Ashley and chairman Chris Mort but he last week opted to stay at Portsmouth.

Thats going to upset the bookies - I predict disaster!
Carly: When Keegan first took over they were near the bottom of the Championship, not the Premiership.

bottom of the championship with crowds of 10,000 fickle geordies , at least when we went down we had bigger crowds than the first division

thanks for the stat backing , i can remember it well we were ,and are the best supported team in the world , of that there is no doubt.
i cannot think of another team that has constantly had high crowds like ours , with relatively little or no success up till 1993, and they call us band waggoners.
