Such a good actor to die so young, but if it was his own fault on the od then no sympathy from me.

The masseuse was let in to the home by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of Ledger’s bedroom. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Ledger unresponsive. They shook him, but he did not respond. They immediately called the authorities. The police said they did not suspect foul play and said they found pills near his body."

He was in some good movies and was a decent actor. Personally, I think Hollywood lost a decent person.

I thought the name was familiar. Brokeback Mountain was nominated for many awards. Never seen the film so that's probably why I couldn't picture him.

I hope they clear up what happened - can't be good for his family to be uncertain of the circumstances surrounding his death.

R.I.P to Heath Ledger, terrific actor and a local boy. Will be missed by the industry and his daughter.

Still not confirmed as suicide yet RD and others who don't care, but I do agree that there are worse things happening around the world that do not get anywhere near the kind of coverage they should be getting. In one sense Heath was just an actor to some, someone who doesn't do an awful lot for the community, to others he was a national icon as such and a terrific actor in an industry which can influence many peoples lives.

it will always be like this as we put our entertainers up on pedastals .
anyone who brings joy into our lives be it by films tv or sport will be missed by many . its the same with pay for instance . a surgeon has arguably the most important job in the world but a top sport star takes home as much in a week as he does in a year . it seems prescription drugs were not his only vice as pics in some papers of him snorting coke with naomi campbell and reports rolled up 20 dollar bill found by bed .

How many people have heard of gardiner though, althougth it is sad why would it be news to anyone other than his family, on the other hadn ledger was a world famous actor known by millions it would be quite strange if it wasn't big news that he died.

To people who do not care about his death and can't understand why it gets so much news and television coverage et cetra, I understand how you feel but

These film stars are famous people who we associate with everything us 9-5 workers secretly and openly want in life. They give us hope and entertain us in their films and bring joy to millions.

There picture is everywhere from magazines to the TV and of course they get all this coverage when they die.

They live by the media, they die by the media, even if that sounds cheesy, it's true imho.


To Red Devil:

A lot of these actors and actresses, including Heath Ledger, are also very talented human beings, just like Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo and Duncan Edwards.

If Wayne Rooney died tomorrow, people all over the world would mourn his death, and still would for years to come, just like they do Duncan Edwards and the other Busby Babes.

So I say to you have a bit of respect for this man and his family and the fact that a death has occured.

How would you feel Red Devil if your next door neighbour took the same reaction you have to this mans death, if Wayne Rooney died tomorrow.....???

This vid shows that they've killed there opposition plenty of times before and apparently Tom Cruise was unhappy at Heath Ledger getting all the parts he thought he should get himself. Scientologists were apparently seen arguing with him outside his house days before his apparent suicide =/

Also, go to google translator, type Heath Ledger is dead and translate it to spanish, just see what it comes up with...
