some lads at my old regiment e-mailed me this so i thought i would pass it on as i think it would make a lot of sense ..

it is a petition to have a day set aside after rememberance sunday as a public holiday where the nation thinks about those who have given their lives and continue to risk lives in defence of our country . . mods remove by all means if this is out of line

These petition sites are actually government sponsored and they do reply to them giving a result on what has been decided. There have been many down the ages asking for differing dates to be set aside as public holidays. Whilst they are looked at, there is very little chance of it happeniing. The most popular date requested for a public holiday was Trafalgar Day, but the wimps in London did not want to upset Le Froggies!!
