why is there never ne noise at old trafford ne more?! the stadium use 2 be jumping on match day in and around the ground great day out yet last nite there was no sining from home fans the odd utd utd! cum on its about time the noise got pumped up like wen we played celtic,that should b every week:mad:

It seems that the fans need a good reason to cheer - Ole and Smudger's appearance on the pitch had the faithful in rapturous applause. I rahter thought that the fans were in good voice for the game against FC Copenhagen.

The main reason was the disbandment of the vociferious Stretford End. When the Stretford End was standing room only, and I spent hundreds of games there, it was "alive" - now people from all over the place have different seats every week and nobody knows anybody anymore. When I was on the Stretford End, we all knew all those around us, we had the same "spec" every week. "Sorry mate you can't stand there, thats space is taken" sort of thing. The last time I was in the Stretford End, seated, was surrounded by strangers.

They have to bring back the standing area of the Stretford End - its the only way. And, don't mention crowd safety either, we had "pens" where the barriers segregated everyone into groups of 50 or so, there was plenty of space to stand but movement was restricted by these barriers and I cannot recall a single person getting hurt in the Stretford End - ever.
