During the 80s, when the title was going back and forth between Liverpool and Everton, United had the biggest crowds.

Feel free to pass on this link:

United have had the biggest gates since WW2 mate! There has been the odd occasion when someone has got near to us, but overall, United have been tops. I used to stand on the Stretford End with well over 65000 before they modernised it. The lowest turnout I think was about 30,000 but will have to check that one out.
