Former Leeds skipper Gary McAllister is hot favourite to succeed Dennis Wise as Leeds manager - and could be in charge within 48 hours.

The former Scotland midfielder, who was being interviewed at the club on Tuesday afternoon, tops the Elland Road wishlist after Wise's shock departure to Newcastle yesterday - and it seems now only ex-England boss Steve McClaren stands in his way.
