I have been watching Al Jazeera for the past three hours or so, and they reported on an incident which took place on the Serbia - Albania border a few weeks ago, and revisited the Albanian village of Corba (sp) where it took place.
It was reported that three children had wandered across the bridge over the river which forms a natural border between the two countries. On the opposite side of the border in a field was a Serbian tilling the ground. He started shouting and swearing at the children, so they decided to turn around and go back.
As they did so, another two Serbians appeared, with dogs, which they set upon the children. The childrens route back across the bridge was cut off so they had to run to the river and jump in. The river had been swollen with snow thaw and was freezing.
The children tried to swim across but the current took them away, drowning two brothers. The third managed to reach the opposite side but had to remain in the water under some bushes as the Serbians had crossed the bridge into Albania and were searching for the children or their bodies. They eventually left and the child was able to crawl out and collapsed on the bank where he was found later on. He survived after treatment.
The UN and the authorities in Serbia refused to act stating lack of evidence.
I am not looking for a war of words here but I feel that incidents such as these should be widely circulated and mentioned to keep us from thinking that these problems have not gone away and innocent people are still being murdered in the cause of nationalism and hate.

Two kids? It's a sad loss that two innocent children have died and the third has lost his/her brothers, but almost a million people have been killed in Iraq, that's not war, that's genocide!

The same people asking for a one world government are the same ones who want to reduce the world population down to 200 million in total. And the same ones who think biological weapons that can target a specific race can be a "politically useful tool". Oh my God!!! RD is a neo-con

i would like to invoke the grand architect on this one 33 is the magic number . ethnic cleansing concentration camps etc all british specialities in the past . the arms manufacturers need bogeymen for their trade to flourish so a little murder and mayhem keeps the wheels oiled . religion the cause of many of world conflicts but humans killed each other well before organised religion . for me its a good thread as most conflicts like slavic or irish one never go away they just get less publicity . have punishment beatings by paramilitary groups stopped in ni ? have they hell as like they just get called drug addicts being taught lesson by outraged communities

I know that two children dying is a tragedy and should not have happened, but two children are a drop in the ocean compared to what is happening in other regions of the worldI completely 100% totally agree BUT my story is about 2 young Albanians playing in their innocent youth and being murdered, because that is what it was, by two heroes of nationalism, Serbs, in the name of hatred. Its a very "brave" thing they have done and all the more so because the Serbian authorities refused to do anything about it, all in the name of nationalism and hate. A mother in a small village being rebuilt after the serbs flattened it with tanks, had lost two sons.
I am a father I know what it must be like. When you are parents, you will see why I am so upset about these children. If I were their father, I would be in Serbia now - killing. Next week, I have my 6 month old grandson for a week, and I'll tell you this, there is nothing I wouldn't do to protect him, nothing.

my story is about 2 young Albanians playing in their innocent youth and being murdered, because that is what it was, by two heroes of nationalism, Serbs.
But why choose these 2 children and not the 500,000 that have died in Darfur ...
Or the 120,000 orphans of Romania ...
Or the 50,000 street children of Mexico ...
The 1000 children who die daily in Africa because there is no clean water ...
The story you chose is sad of course - but isolated ...
A one off ...

yes, but what i was trying to say is that everyone keeps mentioning 9/11, not it's subsequent ( afganistan and iraq ...maybe i left a wrong impression - sorry. But what bothers me is that everyone keeps mantioning 9/11 where 3 000 people died and no one mentions Srebrenica where 200 000 people died. And I find stupid this "attack" on the guy who opened up a thread about those 2 kids. It is disrespecting towards them. I don't think anybody is attacking RD, just wondering why these two children should matter more than the other millions who die needlessly each year.
What are you on about that everyone keeps mentioning 9/11? Read the whole thread again and you'll find that the only person who mentioned 9/11 was YOU (and me in reply to your post).

The point of the other thread on 9/11 was not to highlight the fact that many people died, but to highlight the fact that they died at the hands of their own government.

Yes, sin (thus evil) became prevalent, thanks to Adam and Eve... And man is separated from God, for "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God"...But the Truth will set man free and reconcile man to God.

There should be no particular reason why a person openes up a thread. It is of individual basis ( sorry for the expression, I don't know how to put it better ) . I for one felt that there should be a thread about "Poor Britney" beacuse I was shocked by the way media threated her state . Someone else maybe doesn't feel it is important to discuss it, because there are other examples of one's misfortune or tragedies in the world, but I'm not talking about others, I'm talking about this particular tragedy because I wanted to show how soulless ( paparazzi) can one be through her example.that's why I brought Stalin into conversation - because no one seems to speak about him
again - sorry for misunderstanding

Proof that he controls the media? Well he owns most of it, isn't that enough?
I've researched 9/11 since 9/11, the first alarm bells that something strange was going on came on 10/11. I mostly use the powers of google to do my research.

I didn't see or smell any of the wreckage, I read up on the subject and found quotes from people who could smell cordite at the scene, which is used in cruise missiles, bearing in mind some of these guys were colonels, generals etc they are very credible people. 911 was a dream come true for the republican right in the states .
i happen to believe there is no conspiracy and that it was a terrorist attack .
one which gave bush and co all the support they needed to push through on the war on terror .
its a fact that the history of the world as we understand it has been mainly written by the victors in conflicts and our view of the truth is coloured by what we want to believe .
the original point of the thread was to use a single example to highlight the fact that bad things are still happening in that area of the world but we are not hearing much about it .
millions die in africa every year from aids but still huge numbers refuse to wear condoms .
millions starve in africa despite record levels of aid from the west .
jews and arabs have killed each other for millenia and will for thousands of years more .
the truth is we distrust people different from ourselves and human nature has always been to destroy anyone who might be able to do you harm before they do it to you .
the one good thing going for us in future is the apathy of current generations .
we all dislike certain folk on meeting them and cant explain why . if 911 was a yank sanctioned atrocity what does it really matter to you as long as you have a full belly and broadband etc . rich men will protect there riches always have always will . jealous poorer peoples will try and remove those riches .
