The performances of only six players impressed new England coach Fabio Capello
in their 2-1 win over Switzerland.

Steven Gerrard, David Bentley, Jermaine Jenas, Gareth Barry, Joe Cole and
Matthew Upson caught Capello’s eye during the game.

I'll just repeat that.

NO WAYNE ROONEY !!!

Perhaps we could be accused of bias towards Wazza as a United player – but
surely it is not right that Capello did not include him among the six.

England were far from brilliant against Switzerland but Rooney put in a solid
performance and played well enough to have felt robbed not to have been given
the Man of the Match accolade.

For me he was man of the match purely based on his effort and work rate - at
least he seems to care !

Perhaps Capello probably reckons Rooney is capable of producing so much more
and feels that until he reaches that level praise is unjustified.

That may well be the harsh reality of life with Capello in charge – but if it
ultimately turns England into winners we can’t imagine many will complain ?

Was Rooney among the six best players for England against Switzerland ?

he is still not, what can i say, THERE.....the area where ronnie is right now....the form area....but rooney is one of englands best players and we have to know that rooney is 23 years old and he still has a long way to go.....he will certainly improve and he will be a united legend but not yet now.....on the swiss game, rooney had a good second half......i didnt see the match but i heard it and saw the highlights....he was pretty good.....
