Wes Brown could be on his way out of Manchester United unless he lowers his wage demands. Brown, 28, has been locked in contract talks since apparently turning down a four-year deal in December.

His contract runs out this summer and Brown's representatives insist their player deserves a hefty pay rise at the end of a season in which he has been a right-back regular in place of injured Gary Neville and made Fabio Capello's first England team ahead of Micah Richards.

Brown was being lined up for a move to Newcastle in January but the offer of £800,000 for a player valued by his club at £3million was branded derisory.

His commitment was highlighted when he played in last Sunday's Manchester derby just three days after his father had died.

Known fact for ages that he han't signed the new deal.

It's not him, it's his agent. Fergie said his agent is a cúnt and he doesn't see eye-to-eye with him.

Quality player this season though.

I think he deserves a pay rise to be honest. I'm not sure how much he is asking for but he's been a loyal servant to United and he's a local lad. With neville out, Brown has played most games this season and we currently have the best defensive record in the league, that's not a coincidnce. He deserves more credit than he is getting AND a pay rise, just not a ridiculous payrise.

It was reported not long ago he was asking for something crazy like 100,000 per
week - he was offered 50,000 per week which he then refused - about 2 weeks
later it was said he had signed for 43,000 per week ...

Do what the papers do, use an "unnamed source" (which means they made it up )

Nah, we have more journalistic integrity than them ;)
