Thats a tricky one, i still think a midfielder and striker, although he has larson on the way so i cant see a striker arriving until the summer.

I still think he wants to bring in hargreaves, and according to David Gill today there is money to spent !!

Take a look at the thread "2006/07 Transfer Wishlist" (http://www.manutdtalk.com/forums/speculation-zone/24-2006-07-transfer-wishlist.html)

Don't you think that Kloser from Werder Bremen would be a good move? I mean since we do have very few strikers who actually make a difference( not trying to be rude) like Saha and Rooney. Though at the moment he's not playing his best, i'm sure he'll be able to make a difference at manchester.

Let's see what our strike options are like:

1. El Blanco Pele (Rooney)
2. Saha
3. 20LEgend (Solskjaer)
4. Smudger (Smith)
5. Joe Red (Rossi)
6. King Dong (Dong Fangzhuo)
7. Larsson (on loan)

Seems like we *do* need that striker especially after Ole and Smudger who won't be with us for too long.

what about buying no one?

Bartmu: Hypothetical scenario - we have two critical injuries say, Saha (who is a bit injury-prone) and Scholes (he has a recurrence of his vision problem). Let's also say that they're both out for 3 weeks at the very least? What do you envisage happening especially during the Champions League knockout stages + keeping up the margin in the EPL + the FA Cup matches?

What if the whole squad got ill at once?
So your point is we need a new midfielder and a new striker.
Think thats fair :D

I believe my scenario is a bit more plausible than yours...:)

BTW, love your Cantona quote!

Your scenario sure makes more sence. I was just wondering why u think we should buy new players. This season could be the turning point. We might win some silverware now! Just for that reason we should buy a good midfielder and a quality striker. Does anyone know when Dong will come?
