After Manchester united winger Cristiano Ronaldo
was targetted with a laser at The Stade Gerland, UEFA has
said it will gather more facts before it begins an
investigation into the matter.
"We need to have more information about it, then a
decision will be taken," a UEFA spokesman told the BBC.
"If it proves to be correct then, in this case, it would be
viewed as misbehaviour of the supporters, which would
then be investigated. We have a whole range of different
disciplinary measures, beginning with a warning, then
fines and so on," the spokesman added.
Television footage shows Ronaldo was targetted during
the match and not just before it.
The score on the night was 1-1. Karim Benzema opened
the scoring in the second half before Carlos Tevez
scored a late away goal from close range to put The
Red Devils in the driving seat for the return leg at
Old trafford.
